The gist: the ambience was charming, the scene buzzing, the service unmatched and every ingredient on every dish VERY well thought of. I don't recommend it for groups as it is a very small place and they are not easily accommodating. The main dishes are average price + a few dollars because of location. that's how I saw it. Our waitress was amazing and friendly, they did not get one order wrong for 24 people. The Cocktails are my honourable mention...I had the Tyler Mind Berry Martini 14$ it was an amazing experience. 2 cocktails 1 beer 2 entrees 1 appetizer 1 fountain drink = 107$ + tax and tip they absolutely KILL you on the appetizers + cocktails. CONT.... For my best friend's birthday, we decided to take 24 people to Deville Dinerbar. Reservations were made for 8:30pm with no set-menu. We arrived on time and ready to go only to wait until 10:00pm to get seated. The owner tried to convince us that our reservations were for 9:00pm which we all found rude. We were not seated together as the place is pretty cramped but overall, the atmosphere is trendy/retro and colourful so it kept everyone in a light mood. as for FOOD...it's absolutely magical we sampled the Kopanisti Dip with chips and Lobster Rolls as appetizers. The dip was 14$ and the rolls were 19$. The dip is generous and delicious as are the home-made potato chips! the lobster rolls were something out of this world and I remember thinking to myself "I could eat a thousand of these" - definitely not your average lobster roll. However mini they are, they do give you 3! stay away from the fountain drinks (soda and such) - the gingerale I ordered might as well have been titled "water with simple syrup" on the menu...it was terrible. the main dishes we had were called Cirque Burger and the Fat Cat Burger. The Cirque was caramelized onions, bourbon poached pears and brie cheese. The Fat Cat was pulled BBQ beef ribs with cheddar and BBQ Rootbeer Mayo. The Burger meat was a little chewy and lackluster but otherwise very juicy and the added ingredients more than make up for it. Their coleslaw is the best I've ever had...without exaggeration...and their shoe string fries are lightly fried and perfectly seasoned. The portions were enough to satisfy one of the bigger Titans so bring the hunger!

the food is very very VERY tasty..the portions are not so tasty. I hate to love this spot.it's awesome but i really wanna kick it in the ass for not reaching its full potential. I had the Estivale salad which is actually just fruits with pork. I thought it might be actual greens mixed with some fruits and some meat..that cost an overzealous 20$......for fruit. Delicious dressings but unbelievably underestimated portion for the price. Also the waitress was not very knowledgable, I asked to replace the pork with chicken and she told me it would cost me 5$ extra...chicken...now, if you've ever done groceries in your life, even just once..or not even that..if you've ever eaten in a restaurant in your life...even just once...you might've noticed that pork is ALWAYS more expensive than chicken.. so that didn't make any sense. The crepes are what they're known for and notably so because they were delicious but I wouldn't recommend the salads and the pizza looked kids size. It's typical of the Old Port style, food is delicious but you leave hungry and broke. The terrace is beautiful and open concept with more than one level. The entertainment is also quite enjoyable with a live jazz band. The lines are really long and they don't take reservations so that sucks a bit but you're in the Old Port and you can basically just look around and enjoy the scenery while you wait.

I am not a Vegan, I can't eat much soy due to a thyroid problem and I'm still a die hard fan of this restaurant. I started eating there about 4 years ago and have never stopped. We get take out, we eat there and I even buy some of their boxed veggie butter and vegan mayonnaise. Their bowls are more filling than their sandwiches because they are FILLED with all the vegetables and rice you can ever eat (I reccomend the buddha bowl with tempeh and peanut sauce). In the sandwiches, my favourites are the Mekong and the BLT (toasted coconut acts as the bacon). In the burgers I would get the tempeh burger plate - wonderful roasted potatoes and spicy ketchup, even better coleslaw. There is NO entree in ANY restaurant I've been too that even compares to the chapati with veggie butter. I would eat nothing but veggie butter for the rest of my life if I could. From the biggest meat eater to the most scene vegan, no one can resist the veggie butter..you will tell the waitress to cancel the rest of your order in favour of JUST eating veggie butter. The staff is really nice and helpful if it's your first time with this type of food. The terrace in the back is semi-covered for rainy days and really pretty. Overall, the decor can use some big time TLC but the food and the staff is so good you won't even notice. They also have a smoothie bar and a sufficient selection of teas and an impressive desert menu - my favorites being the chipotle brownie (takes some getting used too but totally worth the experience) and the apple pie! GO - even if it's just for the experience. Maybe you'l miss your meat at the end but you'll find yourself craving Aux Vivres shortly after you visit.

I've been 3 times in the last few months to this wonderful restaurant. The first time - we were more than 15 people and we got everything on time and the staff was especially helpful and nice. The second time we went back, we were 4 people. The service was terrible because we were being served by the bar maid and the manager was very rude when we asked him to be served (as we hadn't seen a waitress in over 30 minutes) but the food was delicious - it was a VERY busy night and we had no reservations. The third time we went back was especially representative of this restaurant's true potential. The food was impeccable, the service was better than ever and we got to watch the hockey game :) Things I was especially impressed with: the pizza is perfect thin crust with just the right combinations and quantity of toppings. If you get a soft drink - they refill it immediately (it's like someone is paid just to watch for empty glasses to refill) The chicken wing starter is the best I have EVER tasted in chicken wings and chicken wings are my jam. The salads are truly meal size, in fact we were 3 people picking at one salad and could not finish it. It is ENDLESS. The portions are giant, the price is completely reasonable and the service is excellent MOST of the time. Overall an excellent restaurant that I would frequent if it wouldn't be detrimental to my health and bank account :) .
