Alex H Restaurant has been my favorite little place in NDG area. They seem to only use the fresh ingredients Chef Alex picks each day, so there's no fixed dishes, and they write what they can serve you on the blackboard every day, just like a traditional Bistro! The ambiance is great, and the service is very welcoming and attentive. Only downside is (though I like that about this place) that the food takes longer to arrive when the place is a little crowded (like on Friday evening). So be aware of that, bring your favorite bottle, and enjoy it while waiting for the delicious meal. I bring my children and they are always welcomed there. (Note: they have a booster seat, but didn't have a high chair when I last went in 11/10). They'd accommodate you with children's menu as well. I'd recommend their Magret de canard, and they usually have it on the menu of the day.
