Each year, in various communities in Canada and the United States, families, friends, neighbors and teams of local and national companies meet on the occasion of the Light the Night walk of the Leukemia Society and lymphoma (SLL) to provide help and hope for people with cancer. Light the Night Walk gives rise to memorable evenings. Thousands of walkers of all ages - gather to bring light into the darkness of cancer. Family and friends walk around with lanterns in their hands and proudly display their connection to the cause. White lanterns help identify survivors of cancer, red lanterns represent those who support the cause, and golden lanterns are in memory of someone who died from cancer.
